I've been using Mozilla- Thunderbird email for about a week now. I've used Outlook exclusively for more years than I can recall so I wasn't sure if I would like using a new email client. I just like to read answer and file I don't typically use many Outlook features outside of work so it works fairly well for what I do from home.

Configuring Thunderbird for my existing email account wasn't to difficult and I was reviving email within a few minutes of starting. It responds quickly but I still need to use it more before deciding if I'll stick with it.

I've liked Ubuntu enough that I decide to install  on a system somewhat newer syste. I installed it on a PC that was running Windows 7 Pro. I'll be using this for everything for the next months. Except for one game.

I burned the install image to a disk this time and did a clean install on the syetm. It was very simple. So far so good.


New System
Memory: 3.7 GB
Procesor:AMD Athalon 64x2 Dual Core 4400+ x2
64 bit
Disk: 315 GB

I'v been using Ubuntu for a little over a week now. I haven't had much difficulty finding what I need in the system. It has made a previously retired PC useful again. It came with Firefox 18.0.1 fro Ubuntu and I installed Google Chrome. Google Chrome seems to run better than Firefox on this system. It responds faster and works better than Firefox with multiple windows open.

So so far no big complaints. I'm starting to use the LibreOffcie apps but haven't used them enough to say much about them so check back again for future posts.

So far I haven't run into  any major issues. I'll be posting more of my thoughts and observations soon so check  back.

I just installed Ubuntu on one of my older PCs. I'm going to use it all this week and see how well it works for me. Installing it was surprisingly easy compared to other open source OS’ I’ve used in the past.
